Vulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage. Truth and courage aren't always comfortable, but they're never weakness - Brene Brown

For some of us, practicing yoga is about physical progression, getting stronger and more flexible, moving with intention, mind, body and breath as one. It might be about sweating on the mat through challenging asanas, or about finding stress relief through meditation practice.

We are all different and yoga is intuitive to your individuality, some of us may not wish to explore the spiritual side deeper, we may have different belief systems, maybe you're a beginner, or not yet at that point in your practice. The reasons above are more than enough for you to seek, and take what you need to enjoy and enhance your wellbeing.

If you've never taken the time to explore or think about the emotional and spiritual side of your practice, but have felt feelings surface through, for example, heart opening backbends, or a meditation, I highly recommend you take a look into deepening your practice.

This can bring personal enrichment during the time on your mat. Opening up and facing your vulnerabilities during your practice, can allow you to explore your boundaries.

Connecting to your emotions through breath and movement, can be an unexpected journey to understanding yourself, on a deeper level than ever before.

There can be an amazing, sweet newness, experiencing the world when you're open to being vulnerable.

Let come what comes, let go what goes. See what remains.- Ramana Maharshi

On the yoga mat, the asanas you avoid could be the ones you need the most. They will take practice, commitment and resilience. You may fall and get back up again, and again, and again, learning a little more about yourself every time, pushing through all the frustrations and self doubt that comes with this.

May you find what you need for yourself through yoga, be open of mind and heart. Your journey is unique to you.

Be kind and go with the flow
